American-made Gin done right. Midwestern Dry Gin, a double gold medal winner at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the largest and most prestigious spirit competition in the world, is a traditional, juniper-forward London Dry. Inspired by the traditional London dry gins that famously emphasize the spicy and aromatic character of mature juniper berries and created with only the finest botanicals from around the world, this gin is bold and full-flavored with layers of aroma and a complexity of flavor that makes it perfect for sipping on the rocks or ideal for classic cocktails.

They say it’s not what you know, it’s who you know—and that’s how our Midwestern Dry Gin came to life. At J. Rieger & Co., we always envisioned a classic London dry style, but mastering gin takes more than ambition. In 2015, a friend introduced us to Tom Nichol, then retiring as Master Distiller of Tanqueray.

​Looking for a passion project, Tom visited Kansas City, connected with our team, and joined our mission. Since then, he’s shared a lifetime of distilling wisdom with our Head Distiller, Nathan Perry. The result? A gin rooted in tradition and crafted with care—Midwestern Dry Gin.

Each ingredient in the gin is noticeable and serves a purpose. Being a classic London dry it leads with juniper on the nose and palate but that is married to the coriander with the earthy/almost melon like characteristic of the angelica. The orange peel accentuates with some bright citrus notes and an ever so slight sweetness comes from the licorice.
